We Support the New Era Spearheaded by Small and Mid-sized Companies

Since it was founded in 1988 with support from the City of Kawasaki, the Kawasaki City Industrial Promotion (IIP) has encouraged the upgrading of local businesses by promoting inter-company exchange, helping smaller companies to adopt more advanced IT and providing them with technological and managerial information. The business management environment today faces major changes surrounding globalization, IT mandate and rapid technological revolution. In November 2000, IIP was designated by the city and authorized by the national government as a "core support organization" in the region under the New Business Creation Promotion Law. Since then it has restructured itself and expanded menus of services to promote the creation of new enterprises, including venture support, start-up support and support for companies entering into a new field of business. In March 2001, the foundation became a designated service corporation based on the Small and Medium Enterprise Support Law. In collaboration with KSP, Inc., the Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology(KAST) and other local organizations supporting small and mid-sized enterprises, IIP focuses on meeting the needs of companies and contributing to the revitalization of the local economy by making itself available as a one-stop service provider (where businesses can have access to all necessary services at a single location).
