Phase 1 project: K2 Town Campus

Overview

K2 Town Campus is an advanced research and development facility developed jointly by Keio University and the City of Kawasaki with the goal of forming a research and development facility through partnerships among industry, academia, and government. More than 10 projects have established a presence in the facility's four buildings, where they are carrying out advanced research dedicated to pioneering the society of the future. The site strives to create new industries and new businesses by holding business networking events and by participating in technological exhibitions while pursuing the potential commercialization of research findings. It has already given rise to multiple venture businesses.
In addition to working to return advanced research findings to the local community by holding open-campus events and seminars for city residents and local companies, the facility holds a range of events, including programs designed to help local children develop an interest in science.

Projects with a presence at K2 Town Campus

There are currently 12 research projects being pursued at K2 Town Campus.
Research activities are also ongoing at the Kawasaki Business Incubation Center (KBIC) in the same Shin-Kawasaki Sozo no Mori Area to commercialize seven projects from Keio University.
